Every key area of the Higher Business Management course, grouped by area of study. Pick a topic to practise it — your accuracy on each is shown below.
Each topic has a quick-quiz sheet (marked for you) and an exam-style sheet (write your answers, then mark them against the marking points).
Full papers laid out like the 2026–27 Higher question paper: a 30-mark case study (Section 1) and five 8-mark questions (Section 2) — 70 marks in 2 hours 15 minutes. Write your answers, then mark them yourself against the marking points. The organisations are fictional.
Before you start
- Spend about 15 minutes reading the case study — the SQA recommends this for Section 1.
- Roughly 2 minutes per mark. An 8-mark question deserves about 15 minutes.
- Use the case study. Section 1 questions often say "used by" the organisation or "in Exhibit 2" — refer to them.
- Match the command word. Describe ≠ explain ≠ discuss. Check the Exam guide if unsure.
- Mark honestly. Only tick a marking point if your answer makes it clearly.
Section 1 — case study (tap to show or hide)
Section 2 — attempt ALL questions. These are not based on the case study.
Mark your paper
For each answer, tick the marking points you made clearly. Each question is capped at its mark allocation. Running total: 0 / 70

Exam tips
- Answer the command word. "Explain" needs a reason or consequence for every mark — not just a list.
- Develop your points. A developed describe or discuss point can earn a second mark.
- Use the case study. If a question says "used by" the organisation, take your examples from the text.
- Cover both sides in discuss questions — full marks usually need at least one advantage and one disadvantage.
- Interpret, don't just copy, numbers. Say what a change in a ratio means and why it might have happened.
- Watch the clock. About 2 minutes per mark; don't spend 20 minutes on a 2-mark question.
- Avoid repetition. Markers do not award the same point twice.
